Just like in sports and many other professions, the art of negotiating is key. Sports agents, just like realistic agents and many other jobs, both represent a client and figure out which deal for both parties is best and, if done at a high level, should favor the client. Sports agents use resources such as the market of their position, the team’s cap space, and much more to depict what an agent can wiggle through to get what both sides want, ultimately, a deal. Stepping through these hurdles allows someone to develop a skill in the art of negotiating.
